Many children suffer from enlarged adenoids (“adenoids”). The consequences are often heavy snoring, constant difficulty breathing through the nose, or a tendency to infections. These adenoids often cause impaired ventilation of the middle ear, which can lead to effusions behind the eardrum or middle ear infections, and can impair your child’s hearing.

At the ENT practice of Drs. Knop & Vadaleau & Heinrichs , children’s hearing problems are diagnosed, including through hearing tests. Treating hearing disorders in the first years of life can prevent potential developmental delays, especially in speech.

Only if conservative (medicinal) treatment does not improve the symptoms may surgery be necessary.
